Membership of the New IP Agency (NIA) positions companies at the forefront of the virtualized global digital economy. Every company has a seat at the table as we work with the industry to enable interoperability between different virtualization solutions, and create clearer business cases for the technology through extensive communication and strategy development with your peers.
Our members have a unique opportunity to represent their respective points of view, as opposed to waiting passively while other industry players define the competitive landscape. In addition to this critical opportunity, NIA members enjoy various benefits that can help drive their product and service portfolios forward. These include:
The Industry’s First Repository of CSP Service Models
By the end of 2017, NIA members will have access to an extensive list of service models, defining the mix of capabilities offered by participating cloud service providers. This resource will be instrumental in helping our members to build and adjust their own strategies based on the directions undertaken by the companies that are often working most directly with the customers.
Telecom’s First Next-Generation Communications Taxonomy
With full participation of our membership, the New IP Agency is developing the industry’s first hierarchical next-gen communications taxonomy, enabling our members to design and commission networks using common terminology that will eliminate the confusion inherent in a market landscape where each company uses its own vernacular, purpose-built to its own offerings and marketing strategy.
The Opportunity to Help Define the NIA Test Program
NIA members are instrumental in shaping the methodologies of our interoperability evaluations. The NIA’s Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) is a task force of member volunteers who forge compelling test cases that demonstrate the advantages of advanced virtualized networks to the entire industry and beyond.
Subsidized Virtualization Testing
NIA members receive discounted testing rates with our lab partners. In some cases, the monetary value of this benefit exceeds the cost of annual membership!
Complimentary Promotion of Test Results
The test evaluations of NIA members are promoted through the outreach arm of Light Reading, the NIA’s media sponsor. Interoperability, once proven, must be promoted to the industry and customer base.
NFV Certification Development
Each of the functions described above will be parlayed into NIA certifications disclosing which products from various vendors are found to be interoperable with one another. This designation will simplify the sales process and build strengthened confidence with the integration phase.
NIA members receive preferred listing in “Virtuapedia;” an online resource for the people, companies, standards groups, ecosystems, products and services that are building the new virtualized communications economy. Members also have access to free promotional initiatives made available through this unique repository of industry information.
