Independent testing of extraordinary, cutting edge/bleeding edge virtualized communications capabilities has always been a principle of the NIA’s remit, and this year we will continue this tradition with a unique industry evaluation of the state of NFV/SDN integration.
The SDN-to-NFV Interoperability Showcase takes place in Q4 2017, and is a collaboration between the NIA and EANTC, an internationally recognized communications test center and established partner of the NIA.
We invite all SDN and NFV vendors to participate in the testing as, for the first time, we add software-defined networking to the mix of technologies tested, reflecting the reality of today’s networks.
EANTC will evaluate the multivendor end-to-end virtualized services (from the edge to the NFV data center) with an integrated orchestration between NFV and SDN. Vendors are invited to demonstrate their readiness and openness in this, our industry’s most exciting independent initiative.
The goal of this evaluation is to broaden the matrix of interoperable NFV orchestration and NFV infrastructure combinations, while also widening the focus by adding SDN orchestrators. A detailed white paper will illustrate successful test combinations, analyze issues on an industry level and explain features working best today. During the live showcase, all tangible results will be presented publicly in collaboration with participating vendors. The key areas under evaluation will be:
- Network Service Lifecycle Management
- Network Service Operations
- Scaling Functions
