Re: Upskill U
What you've outlined goes to the essence of Ethical Conduct, though @kq4ym.   It seems to me that there should not be any compromise on it.

Wishing you all a great rest of the long weekend for all in the US as we march on to June w/all the possibilities.

:)

Re: Upskill U
Yes, there's so much hype that even those marketers who try to avoid it, end up inadvertently using it anyway. With the pressure from whomever is paying their salary or paying the advertsiting bill, it's not often easy to avoid saying and writing things that are properly not appropriate.

Re: Upskill U
What you noted @Ariella reminded me of WebVan (Anyone remember that!!)..that burnt through a Billion (that's billion with a B" before it went belly up.     There is of course Theranos and a few others out there today...aren't they?

Re: Upskill U
@mpouraryan Unfortunately, I find that depiction very accurate for a lot of things that are hyped up as the greatest invention ever and turn out to be flimsy, unreliable, and not truly useful. That is not to say that marketing has to resort to distortions. I think that sometimes the marketers really have no fundamental understanding of what the product really is and just build it up regardless. This is not a new phenomenon. The entire plot of the the 1961 film Lover Come Back revolves around the fact that a product that doesn't exist is very effectively advertised.

Nearly fell out of my chair @Ariella as I saw this after a long day on Jury Duty--But on a more serious note, what is also critical to underscore is the old adage, "..Caveat Emptor...Buyer be aware..."--It is up to us to embrace it and not just simply buy into the fad for the day.

Happy Monday @Batye!!

This is why the deliberations we do here is at the heart of the transformation we all strive for.    We have to question and assess on an on-going basis.

Re: Upskill U
@LizCoyne  this days everyone saying Bzzwords everywhere, but when you ask to explaine or trying to separate it part by part... you end up finding people saying it but do not comprechend themself what they say it... it a bit sad,,, and I do hope The New IP change it for them... one person at the time... how I see it... as right way of learning should never be replaced by just following and saying what everyone saying... as a humans we tend to follow group and repeat what leader says... but it better to understand it or trying to understand it... and learn it right way :) - how I see it.. as on The New IP we do learn...
