CHICAGO -- In an effort to make ordering network services easier, today at International Telecoms Week (ITW), Global Capacity released the next evolution of Connect Marketplace, its service lifecycle manager software aimed at businesses that need to order network connectivity for New IP applications, including cloud, video, voice and more.
Connect Marketplace provides a single transparent view of hundreds of services and technologies, and allows businesses to click and drag bulk uploads for thousands of locations; visualize sites; save, export and share design options; and order network connectivity with a single click. Today's businesses are trying to connect to a destination and that destination is in the cloud, says Mary Stanhope, VP of Marketing for Global Capacity . "Now the question has become, how do we solve for that?"
Enabled through APIs, Connect Marketplace allows businesses to analyze data on all available connections and make connectivity decisions based on their own specific criteria, according to Stanhope. She adds that the software eliminates the need for the request for proposals (RFPs) process.
"You can take the data and share it and evaluate it -- do you want the best financial decision or the best technological decision? -- drag it into the shopping cart and hit order," Stanhope says. "You can save, share and make informed decisions."
She adds that this type of functionality is going to be key for software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) services because it can provide visibility into the connectivity for applications and the pricing for different locations.
