Re: Duplicate spending across the channel
I think this is one of the reasons why open source has become more popular in these areas. It doesn't make sense these days for vendors to sell a solution that can't provide interoperability. In the place of standards, open source does a good job in providing the interoperability that customers need to make all the parts work.

@Alison Diana yes, I could not agree more as they trying to create a better way :) but it does make sense to cut out dublicate spending... and put money towards development...

Duplicate spending across the channel
When you consider how much each service provider spends -- in money and hours -- on the same or very similar virtualization interoperability testing, it's readily apparent how a transparent, vendor-neutral test could be invaluable to service providers and developers. CSPs could eliminate that process, allowing them to spend time and money on differentiating solutions and business propositions, while developers - assured their products work together within published, tested formats - can focus on service or developing new solutions or technologies, rather than repeatedly working with clients to resolve interoperability issues.
